Yamaha FG800J Folk Guitar Solid Top Natural

The Yamaha FG800J Folk Guitar: Traditional Acoustic Character with Modern Refinement

Solid Spruce Top Acoustic Guitar

The Yamaha FG800J brings together straightforward traditional styling and the kind of practical design that makes an acoustic guitar easy to reach for every day. At the heart of the instrument is a solid spruce top, a classic soundboard choice that gives the FG800J a strong foundation for a balanced and robust acoustic voice.

Traditional Western Body with Nato and Mahogany

The traditional western body is paired with nato and mahogany back and sides. This combination complements the solid spruce top with warmth and depth, giving the FG800J a full bodied character suited to everything from open chord strumming to more detailed acoustic playing.

Scalloped Bracing for Responsive Acoustic Tone

Inside the FG800J, scalloped bracing supports the top while allowing it to respond freely to the strings. The result is an acoustic guitar designed for strong projection, tonal clarity, and a dynamic response that works equally well for strumming chords or exploring fingerstyle passages.

Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge

A rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge round out the traditional acoustic formula. The fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface, while the rosewood bridge transfers string energy into the solid spruce soundboard. Together they contribute to the FG800J's comfortable feel and sustained acoustic response.

Natural Finish and Classic Yamaha Style

Finished in Natural, the FG800J keeps the visual presentation simple and familiar, allowing the spruce top and traditional western body shape to take center stage. For players looking for a straightforward solid top acoustic guitar without unnecessary extras, the FG800J offers a compelling combination of traditional materials and modern construction.
