Five String Jazz Bass Design

The Squier Affinity Series Active Jazz Bass V takes the familiar Jazz Bass platform and expands it with a fifth string for access to deeper notes and an extended playing range. Its poplar body features a Black Metallic gloss polyurethane finish, giving this right handed bass a clean, classic look.

Comfortable Maple Neck

A maple neck with a C shape provides a comfortable playing foundation, while the bolt on construction keeps things traditional. The maple fingerboard features a 9.5 inch radius, 20 frets, and Black Pearloid block position inlays. A satin urethane neck finish is paired with a gloss urethane headstock face.

Squier Noiseless Jazz Bass Pickups

Two Squier Ceramic Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups provide the voice of this five string bass. The SS pickup configuration combines dedicated neck and bridge pickups with active electronics, giving players plenty of control over their sound.

Active 9V Electronics

An active 9V preamp expands the available tonal control. Individual neck and bridge pickup volume controls are joined by a stacked active bass and treble boost and cut control, making it easy to shape the low and high frequencies directly from the instrument.

Five String Hardware

A 5 saddle standard bridge handles the five string configuration, while vintage style tuning machines provide tuning adjustment. The bass is completed with a 3 ply black pickguard and nickel plated steel strings.
