The Modern Eagle V brings together sophisticated craftsmanship, carefully selected tonewoods, and an unusually flexible electronic design. This example features a Sprayer's Choice finish, a hand done, one of one treatment without an official finish name. Combined with the carved 10 Top maple top and mahogany back, it gives this Modern Eagle V an identity all its own.
Maple 10 Top and Mahogany Construction
A solidbody foundation of maple over mahogany pairs with a one piece Pattern mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. The 25 inch scale, 22 fret layout, 10 inch fretboard radius, bone nut, and PRS Vintage fret wire keep the playing platform rooted in familiar PRS territory. High gloss nitro finish completes the instrument.
TCI and NS 01 Five Coil Pickup System
The humbucker, single coil, humbucker layout combines TCI treble and bass pickups with an NS 01 middle pickup. A 5 way blade switch moves intuitively through treble, treble and middle, middle, middle and bass, and bass settings. Pulling the tone control activates both humbuckers, making all three pickups available simultaneously.
Dual EQ Switching for Expanded Electric Guitar Tones
Two mini toggle EQ switches add another layer of control. In the up position, they operate as tuned high pass filters, removing shelved low end while allowing high frequencies through. The result is a broad palette designed to move easily between recording and live playing without overcomplicating the controls.
Gen III Tremolo and Phase III Locking Tuners
The PRS patented Gen III tremolo is paired with Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons and nickel hardware. A hardshell case and case candy are included, completing a distinctive Modern Eagle V built around the pursuit of new tones.
