Its Valvetronix+ technology works with the Vox Valve Reactor architecture to deliver extended dynamic range, fat drive tones, and enough sensitivity to picking dynamics to keep things interesting whether you are playing clean, pushing into crunch, or piling on the gain.

Valve Reactor Tube Driven Guitar Tone

At the heart of the VT40+ is the tube driven Vox Valve Reactor circuit, which uses a 12AX7 vacuum tube. The amplifier offers 60 watts RMS into its 10 inch Vox original speaker, while the Power Level control lets you limit power amp output. That means you can get into power amp distortion without necessarily getting into an argument with everybody else in the building. For practice, recording, and situations where full output is simply too much, that is a very useful trick.

33 Amp Models and Built In Guitar Effects

There is plenty to explore here. The VT40+ provides 33 amplifier models along with 11 pedal effect types, three reverb types, and noise reduction. Each amplifier model includes Basic, Effected, and Song presets for a total of 99 preset programs, plus eight user programs arranged in two banks of four channels. A built in automatic guitar tuner adds another practical feature without requiring another piece of gear.

Vox VT40+ Practice and Recording Features

The VT40+ also provides the connections needed to make it a versatile practice amp. The top panel includes a standard instrument input, stereo Aux In, and a headphone output designed to simulate the acoustic and spatial character of a full speaker cabinet. A rear panel footswitch jack provides additional control when used with a compatible footswitch, although a footswitch is not included with this amplifier.
