Reactive Load Box and Tube Amp Attenuator

The Torpedo Captor X gives you a practical way to run your tube amp at its sweet spot while keeping the resulting volume appropriate for home, stage, or studio use. Its 100 watt RMS reactive load and three attenuation settings let you go from full output to substantially reduced volume, while the headphone output makes silent playing possible when even reduced volume is too much.

Virtual Cabinets and Dual Miking

The Captor X goes well beyond attenuation. Torpedo IR based cabinet simulation provides dual miked Virtual Cabinets with a choice of microphones and room simulations, while the dual IR loader offers 512 memory slots for custom IR files. With 32 Virtual Cabinets loaded and 128 preset locations available, there is plenty of room to build a collection of sounds for recording, practicing, or playing live. Torpedo Remote provides deeper control from a computer, phone, or tablet, including microphone positioning and additional parameter adjustment.

Stereo Outputs for Stage and Studio

Two balanced XLR outputs make the Captor X particularly useful when a rig needs to serve more than one purpose. Stereo operation delivers the full spatial experience, while Dual Mono routing can provide dedicated signals for front of house and monitors with different EQ and reverb settings. Dry and Wet routing lets you record the cabinet simulated signal through one output while simultaneously capturing a dry amp signal through the other. That gives you options after the performance is already in the can, which is rarely a bad thing.

Twin Tracker Reverb and Tone Shaping

The onboard processing adds considerably more than a virtual speaker cabinet. Twin Tracker creates a second performance in real time for a larger double tracked sound, while Stereo Reverb ranges from subtle room ambience to considerably larger spaces. The Enhancer provides Body, Brilliance, and Thickness controls for additional tone shaping, and the Voicing control offers a quick way to shift the overall character of your presets. A noise gate with a learn function rounds out a surprisingly deep collection of tools in a compact box.
