Originally designed as a signature model for Courtney Love, the Venus combines an offset solid basswood body with an unusual pickup configuration and unmistakable vintage inspired attitude. Finished in Sunburst with a white pickguard and chrome hardware, this one has plenty of personality before you even plug it in.
Humbucker and Single Coil Pickup Combination
The H/S pickup configuration gives the Venus a useful range of sounds without burying the player under controls. A humbucker handles the bridge position while a single coil pickup with staggered Alnico pole pieces sits at the neck. A 3 position toggle and single master volume keep operation wonderfully straightforward. Plug in, pick a pickup and get on with it.
Maple Neck and Rosewood Fretboard
The maple neck is paired with a rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets and a 9.5 inch radius. Its 25.5 inch scale length and 1 11/16 inch nut width provide familiar proportions, while the offset body gives the Venus its own distinctive feel and visual identity. This is a guitar built with individuality in mind rather than another variation on the usual formula.
Strings Through Body Bridge
A 6 saddle adjustable bridge with strings through body design anchors the hardware package, joined by traditional machine heads. The stripped down control layout and straightforward hardware complement the unconventional body shape nicely. There is enough here to cover plenty of musical ground without anything getting between the player and the guitar.
