The PRS HDRX 50 is a tribute to the iconic late 60s British-inspired sound, offering a commanding 50-watt amplifier that balances flexibility and power. Evolving from the successful HXDA series, the PRS HDRX amps boast an improved control layout and a meticulously documented "Authentic Hendrix" Touring Circuit. This circuit is the result of close study and inspiration drawn from one of Jimi Hendrix's personal amps, potentially used during the Woodstock era.

Designed to deliver clarity in the high-end without harshness, the PRS HDRX 50 radiates a distinct brilliance while maintaining a balanced aggression that transitions smoothly into sweet, resonant tones. The heart of the amp consists of a pair of EL34EH power tubes, matched with premium pre-amp tubes and a custom-designed Straight Edge output transformer. This custom 50-watt transformer emulates the tonal character of the 100-watt amplifier while ensuring a more comparable output. With a well-crafted power supply and filament design, the HDRX achieves remarkable quietness, minimizing undesirable hum or hiss.

Precision Craftsmanship and Remarkable Control

The PRS HDRX 50 features an array of controls for tonal sculpting, including a 3-band TMB tone stack, a 3-way bright switch, high-mid gain switch, and presence controls. Notably, this amplifier introduces internally bridged channels with individual volume controls, eliminating the need for external jumper cables and granting players the convenience of blending lead and bass channels with ease. Crafted in PRS Guitars' Stevensville, Maryland, USA factory, the PRS HDRX 50 not only recreates vintage tonal heritage but also reflects modern ingenuity. For a complete experience, matching 2x12 and 4x12 cabinets, equipped with modified Celestion G12H-75 Creamback speakers, are available to complement the HDRX Amp family.
