The Morningstar MC8 PRO is built for players who want serious control over a MIDI based guitar rig without turning every performance into a tap dancing routine. Its eight programmable footswitches can control MIDI capable devices, with each switch able to execute combinations of messages and actions. With 128 banks, three pages per bank and eight switch presets per page, there is plenty of room to organize everything from a straightforward pedalboard to a much more involved live rig.

High Resolution Displays and Flexible Presets

Four high resolution screens provide visual feedback for preset names, bank information and other controller functions. Presets can respond differently to actions including press, release, double tap and long press, allowing a single footswitch to handle multiple jobs. Presets also offer two toggle positions plus a temporary shift position, adding another layer of control without requiring more switches underfoot.

MIDI Connectivity for Pedals and Guitar Rigs

Connectivity is one of the MC8 PRO's strong suits. Standard 5 pin MIDI input and output are joined by 3.5 mm TRS MIDI input and output, USB Device and USB Host connections. Four Omniports can each be configured for TRS MIDI output, expression pedal input or auxiliary switch input. Relay ports provide control over compatible non MIDI equipment including amplifier channel switching, effects switching and analog tap tempo functions.

USB Bluetooth and Expression Control

The USB Host port can send and receive MIDI for direct control of compatible USB MIDI devices, while the USB Device connection provides access to the Morningstar Editor and MIDI capable music software. Bluetooth MIDI provides another option for wireless MIDI control. Up to four expression pedals can be connected through the Omniports, giving players continuous control over MIDI parameters such as volume, effect mix, feedback and other assignable functions.
