Pre-Owned Malekko Downer

The Malekko Downer: Octave Distortion Into Synth Territory

Analog Octave and Distortion Effects Pedal

The Malekko Downer takes the octave down and fuzz concept somewhere considerably more interesting. Built around an analog octave and distortion design, the Downer combines a fat octave circuit with extensive tone shaping controls that let you move from subtle octave textures into seriously heavy synth bass territory.

Analog Wavefolder and Saturation Control

A saturation and wavefolder stage gives the Downer another dimension beyond a conventional octave pedal. Instead of simply piling distortion onto the octave signal, the analog wavefolder provides another way to reshape the sound. Combined with the octave blend control, this gives you plenty of room to decide just how far down the rabbit hole you want to go.

High Pass and Low Pass Filter Tone Shaping

Separate high pass and low pass filters provide substantial control over the frequency range of the effect. Whether you are looking to trim away frequencies for a more focused sound or push the Downer toward a heavier synth bass character, these filters make the pedal much more flexible than the typical octave down and fuzz combination.

Preamp and Octave Blend Controls

The preamp control works alongside the octave blend to provide additional control over how the Downer responds and how prominently the octave effect sits in the resulting sound. That means the Downer does not have to be an all or nothing proposition. It can provide subtle octave coloration or take over with the kind of thick octave sound that makes the pedal the center of the rig.

Assignable Expression Pedal Input

An assignable expression input opens up the Downer for real time control, including the ability to move between more restrained octave sounds and heavier synth bass textures while playing. This pre owned example shows light wear consistent with regular use, with all cosmetic wear documented in the photoset. The original box is included. No power supply is included.
