The Gibson G 00: A Personal Parlor Guitar with an Immersive Voice

Gibson G 00 Small Body Acoustic Guitar

The Gibson G 00 takes the familiar proportions of a small body acoustic and gives the player a remarkably personal playing experience. Its slightly thinner parlor sized body is exceptionally comfortable to hold, while the combination of a solid Sitka spruce top and solid walnut back and sides provides a crisp, resonant acoustic voice. Built in Bozeman, Montana, the G 00 is part of the Gibson Generation Collection.

Gibson Player Port Acoustic Design

What really distinguishes the G 00 is the Gibson Player Port. Based on an original Gibson concept from the early 1960s and refined by the Gibson acoustic luthier team, the Player Port allows more of the guitar's sound to reach the person actually playing it. Instead of hearing the instrument primarily from behind the soundboard, the player gets a more immediate perspective on the guitar's voice, creating an immersive experience while practicing, writing, or simply playing for yourself.

Solid Sitka Spruce and Walnut Tonewoods

The G 00 pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with solid walnut back and sides. Sitka spruce is an exceptionally versatile soundboard material, while the construction and design of the complete instrument play an important role in determining its final voice. Here, Gibson pairs those solid woods with Traditional Scalloped X bracing and the compact L 00 body shape to create the G 00's crisp and resonant character.

Advanced Response Neck and Ebony Fingerboard

The utile neck features Gibson's Advanced Response profile and a 24.75 inch scale length, giving the G 00 a comfortable playing feel that complements its compact body. An ebony fingerboard with a 16 inch radius and 20 standard frets provides a familiar playing surface, while the compound dovetail neck to body joint uses hot hide glue. A TUSQ nut and saddle pair with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines for solid tuning stability.
