The Catalinbread Lo-Fi Proto 5 is a unique delay pedal born from a long forgotten prototype that was rediscovered years after its original creation. Adapted from the original code and brought to life on Catalinbread's modern platform, this inventive effect delivers a character filled delay unlike anything else in the lineup. Its triple tap architecture creates layered repeats with rich texture, making it equally at home adding atmosphere, movement, or experimental soundscapes.

Dynamic Modulation and Vintage Character

Each of the three delay taps is routed through its own carefully tuned filter before passing into a subtle modulation circuit and being summed at the output. The result is an organic, evolving delay that balances clarity with beautifully degraded textures. The dedicated Lo-Fi control simultaneously increases modulation depth while opening the filter cutoff frequencies, allowing everything from understated vintage ambience to deeply warped repeats that come alive when paired with additional effects.

Creative Delay Controls

With delay times reaching approximately 800 milliseconds, the Time control covers everything from tight rhythmic echoes to spacious ambient trails. Feed adjusts the number of repeats, progressing from a single echo to near self oscillation at its highest settings, while Mix blends the dry and effected signals from completely dry to fully wet. The Volume control fine tunes the overall output, and an internal volume trimmer allows the preamp to be driven harder for added saturation and presence when desired. Catalinbread even recommends placing it at the very end of your signal chain, after reverbs, for inspiring and unconventional delay textures.

This pre-owned Lo-Fi Proto 5 is in very good condition with light wear consistent with regular use. All cosmetic wear has been thoroughly documented in the accompanying photoset. It includes the original box, bag, and stickers. No power supply is included.
