Pre-Owned Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret

The Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret: Classic British Amp Roar to Your Pedalboard

Classic British Overdrive and Amp Inspired Tone

The Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret captures the sound and response of classic Marshall amplifiers in a remarkably versatile overdrive pedal. From muscular rhythm crunch to soaring lead tones, this pedal delivers the punch, rich harmonics, and dynamic response that make a cranked British amp so much fun to play. It is equally at home adding some grit to a clean amplifier or serving as the foundation of your entire drive sound.

Super Lead and Super Bass Overdrive Modes

An internal switch gives you two distinct flavors of classic British amplification. Super Lead mode offers aggressive gain, articulate attack, and singing harmonics, while Super Bass mode provides a more open response that works particularly well with fuzz pedals. Both modes respond beautifully to changes in your picking dynamics and guitar volume, allowing you to move from cleaner textures to snarling overdrive without constantly reaching for the pedal.

Interactive Three Band Tone Controls

The Bass, Middle, and Treble controls do considerably more than simply adjust the frequency balance. Their interactive behavior changes with the selected amplifier mode, allowing you to shape the character and response of the overdrive itself. Dedicated Preamp and Master controls provide further flexibility, letting you dial in everything from subtle breakup to thick, saturated crunch while managing the overall output level.

A Versatile Foundation Overdrive Pedal

The Dirty Little Secret is particularly compelling as a foundation pedal for players who want their amplifier to take on a distinctly British personality. Leave it engaged for a responsive core sound, push it with a fuzz pedal, or use your guitar volume to clean things up. There is plenty of range here for players who appreciate the feel and interaction of an amplifier rather than an ordinary distortion box.
