Hand built in Forest Grove, Oregon, this Brian Bishop OM brings together old world acoustic guitar construction and thoughtful appointments in a luthier made instrument. The OM body is paired with a spruce top and maple back and sides, while maple binding and herringbone purfling frame the body with an elegant, and refined presentation.

Spruce Top and Maple Back and Sides

The spruce top is X braced and paired with figured maple back and sides. Rather than reducing the character of an acoustic guitar to its individual woods, the combination is best considered as part of the complete instrument, where body shape, bracing, and material choices work together to establish its voice. The OM format completes a familiar foundation for this hand built acoustic.

Maple Neck and Ebony Fingerboard

A maple neck with a C profile is paired with an ebony fingerboard and a 25.5 inch scale length. The 1 11/16 inch bone nut and 20 fret configuration provide the essential playing geometry, while an ebony bridge and bone saddle continue the traditional material choices. Mother of pearl inlays and Gotoh tuners complete the appointments.

Sunburst Nitrocellulose Finish

The sunburst nitrocellulose finish gives this OM a classic visual identity, complemented by maple binding, herringbone purfling, and a three ring rosette. The guitar shows light wear consistent with regular use, with all cosmetic damage documented in the photoset. There are no modifications.
