Pre-Owned Boss SY-1 Synthesizer

The Boss SY-1 Synthesizer: A World of Synth Sounds to Your Pedalboard

Boss SY-1 Guitar Synthesizer Pedal

The Boss SY-1 takes the expansive sounds of a synthesizer and puts them into the familiar format of a compact effects pedal. With 121 sounds arranged across 11 types and 11 variations, it gives guitar and bass players access to everything from leads and bass sounds to organs, strings, pads, bells, effects and rhythmic sequences. Better still, there is no special pickup required.

Polyphonic Synth Sounds for Guitar and Bass

The SY-1 is polyphonic, so you are not limited to single note synth lines. Chords are fair game as well. A dedicated Guitar and Bass switch optimizes the synth engine for either instrument, while the Tone, Depth, Effect and Direct controls provide a straightforward way to shape and blend sounds without diving into programming menus.

Easy Synth Pedal Controls

This is where the SY-1 really shines as a pedal rather than simply a synthesizer squeezed into a stompbox. Select a sound type and variation, adjust it to taste and play. The Effect and Direct controls independently balance the synth and normal instrument signals, making it easy to decide just how far down the synth rabbit hole you want to go.

Flexible Pedalboard Integration and Expression Control

A built in send and return loop provides additional options for integrating the SY-1 with the rest of a pedalboard. The pedal also supports an external footswitch or expression pedal for additional real time control. The Hold function can sustain a synth sound while you continue playing your regular guitar over it, opening up some seriously interesting performance possibilities.
