Building on the legacy of the original SL-20, the SL-2 delivers the same slicing magic in a far more compact form. It transforms your sound into pulse-patterned tremolos, glitchy rhythmic choppers, and harmonic panning textures—all synced to tap tempo, MIDI clock, or external expression for seamless integration into your rig.

Wide Range of Slice Types with Deep Parameter Control

The SL-2 offers eight slicer types including single, dual, tremolo, harmonic, and SFX categories—each providing a distinct rhythmic feel. The Variation knob selects from an array of patterns, while Balance and Attack controls let you blend and shape the mix to your taste. A dedicated Duty control sets the length of each rhythmic slice, and the onboard tempo knob lets you dial in the BPM manually or tap it in on the fly.

Full Stereo Imaging with Advanced Output Modes

Whether you’re using a single amp or a full stereo setup, the SL-2 delivers flexible output modes that adapt to your needs. For stereo rigs, the pedal offers effects like ping-pong delay-style movement, 3D rotation, and auto-panning across the field. Mono users still get thick, animated modulation, but stereo setups will unlock the full dimensional potential of the SL-2’s rhythmic slicing engine.

Expandable Control via MIDI, Footswitches, or Expression Pedal

The SL-2 supports deep external control. With the CTL/EXP jack, users can assign tap tempo, momentary effects, or real-time parameter sweeps using compatible Boss footswitches or expression pedals. It also features MIDI input via mini TRS, allowing for external tempo sync and effect triggering—ideal for DAW-based setups or MIDI-enabled pedalboards.

Compact Size, Pro-Level Features

With its compact Boss enclosure and intuitive layout, the SL-2 fits seamlessly on any pedalboard. Buffered bypass ensures signal integrity across complex chains. Power comes from a 9V battery or optional PSA-series adapter, and the onboard USB port allows for pattern management via Boss Tone Studio. While compact in size, the SL-2 is expansive in capability and ready for any sonic experimenter.
