The BD-2 has been in continuous production since 1995, and its combination of natural breakup, dynamic response, and straightforward controls has made it useful for far more than the blues suggested by the name.

Amp Like Gain and Dynamic Response

The BD-2 was designed around an amp inspired multistage clipping circuit intended to reproduce the interactive gain and compression characteristics of a tube amplifier. The result is an overdrive that responds noticeably to picking dynamics and guitar volume changes. Dig in and the drive becomes more assertive. Back off your attack or roll down the guitar volume and the sound cleans up naturally.

Clean Boost to Saturated Overdrive

There is plenty of range available from the Gain control. Lower settings can provide mild breakup or a relatively clean boost that retains definition, making the BD-2 useful for pushing another drive pedal or an already working amplifier. Turn up the gain and the sound becomes fuller and increasingly saturated while retaining the articulate character for which the Blues Driver is known.

Simple Three Knob Boss Pedal Controls

Level, Tone, and Gain controls keep operation refreshingly straightforward. Tone adjusts the high frequency response, Gain determines the amount of drive, and Level sets the output. That simple layout makes it easy to move from defined chord work and arpeggios to thicker rhythm sounds and driven lead tones without turning pedal setup into a science project.
