You’ve heard of humbuckers. You’ve heard of single coils. Maybe you’ve even dabbled in rail pickups or some wacky overwound P-90 variant. But have you ever thought, what if my pickup had eight coils? No? Well, we did. And that’s how the Dumbucker was born.

Originally conceived as a tongue-in-cheek experiment, the Dumbucker is an eight-coil humbucker that defies logic, reason, and possibly some laws of physics. It’s ridiculous, excessive, and yet—it actually sounds incredible. The latest version features coil-tapping capabilities, letting you unlock different combinations of its absurd coil array. Whether you’re chasing articulate chime, thick growling overdrive, or all-out sonic chaos, the Dumbucker delivers.

Unleash Maximum Dumb

This isn’t your dad’s vintage PAF, and it’s not some boutique recreation of a long-lost classic. The Dumbucker is designed for those who love to experiment, push boundaries, and embrace the absurd.

Due to its inherently darker voicing, we recommend pairing it with a 1 Meg potentiometer for optimal brightness. The Dumbucker is also blade-switch compatible, with a 3-position wiring setup that gives you access to:

• Position 1 & 3 – Classic PAF-style humbucker tones, using either the bridge or neck two coils
• Middle Position – All eight coils engaged, delivering maximum dumb, an over-the-top, fuzzed-out assault on your amp

For best results, set your amp on the edge of breakup in humbucking mode, and then flip to the middle position for an outrageous, blown-out tone.
