The JAM Pedals Tiny Amp Destroyer: Tiny Amp Mayhem to Your Pedalboard
Tiny Amp Inspired Overdrive and Distortion
Inspired by Stu Mackenzie's use of two Boomster clean boost pedals driving a favorite little Cash Converters amp, TAD captures the point where that setup starts coming apart. Crunchy, boxy and buzzy can be beautiful things when they happen in just the right way.
From Low Gain Breakup to Saturated Distortion
The Tiny Amp Destroyer is not limited to one blown out sound. Its gain is divided into two stages that can be used independently or stacked, giving you room to travel from driven tones into considerably heavier territory. It can deliver low gain breakup, dense saturated distortion and the deliberately ragged character of an overworked small amp. It can also operate as a full range drive that holds its place in a mix.
Treble Boost and Magic Switch
There are more tricks hiding inside TAD. A treble boost provides another way to shape how the pedal attacks your amp, while the magic switch opens up additional possibilities. It can be subtle when that is what the music needs, or extremely wild when restraint has officially left the building. Clean amp, dirty amp, different guitars and different pickups will produce different results, which is exactly part of the fun.
King Gizzard Tiny Amp Destruction
The concept was developed after JAM Pedals recreated Stu's unusual tiny amp setup and studied the point where the amp stopped smoothing itself out and began responding differently. A prototype was brought to Stu during King Gizzard's residency in Athens, where he put it to work and continued using it for the remainder of the tour. The final TAD took shape through that real world use.
Jason Galea Artwork
Jason Galea created artwork that fits the Tiny Amp Destroyer's personality beautifully. The visual concept reflects something held in place and forcing its way out, which is a pretty appropriate description of what happens when this pedal gets moving. TAD is not about polished distortion. It is about pushing something beyond where it was meant to go, staying there and enjoying the destruction.
