Epiphone Explorer 80s EMG - Classic White with Gigbag

The Epiphone Explorer 80s EMG: A Retro-Futuristic Powerhouse

Iconic 80s Design Meets Modern Playability

The Epiphone Explorer 80s EMG in Classic White pays homage to one of the most aggressive and visually striking guitar shapes ever conceived. Based on the revered 1984 model, this modern recreation retains the same unmistakable silhouette that rocked stages throughout the hard-hitting 80s. Wrapped in a high-gloss Classic White finish, it carries the spirit of that era into the present with a build and feature set aimed at high-performance players looking for edge, attitude, and rock-solid tone.

High-Output EMG Electronics for Crushing Tones

This guitar comes loaded with a pair of active EMG pickups that are revered for their power, clarity, and sustain. The EMG 60 in the neck delivers full-bodied warmth with articulate highs, while the EMG 81 in the bridge is all about tight low end and searing lead tones. Whether you're holding down rhythm in a wall of distortion or soaring through a high-gain solo, these pickups deliver detail and punch. Individual volume controls and a master tone knob provide a straightforward, intuitive layout for real-time tone shaping.

SlimTaper Neck and Premium Tonewood Pairing

Crafted from mahogany, both the body and neck are built for resonance and long-term durability. The 60s SlimTaper neck profile offers a fast, comfortable feel ideal for modern techniques without losing that vintage familiarity. A rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets makes for smooth bending and clean note articulation. Pearloid dot inlays provide a touch of classic aesthetic while keeping things straightforward and player-focused.

Rock-Solid Hardware and Thoughtful Appointments

The Explorer 80s EMG is loaded with practical hardware that supports both tone and tuning stability. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece provide dependable string anchoring, while the mini die-cast tuners and Graph Tech nut ensure everything stays solid and in tune. There’s no pickguard to obscure the bold body lines, giving it a sleek and slightly menacing look that’s all business.

Ready for the Road

Whether you’re on tour or heading to your next rehearsal, this guitar is gig-ready right out of the box. It comes with a rugged Epiphone Premium Gigbag, offering protection and easy transport for this angular axe of attitude. A 9-volt battery powers the active pickups and can be quickly accessed via the rear compartment.
