Designed to deliver the natural response and rich harmonic character of a driven amplifier, the Classic offers everything from subtle breakup to thick, saturated distortion. Its dynamic response allows lighter picking to retain clarity while digging in produces a more aggressive, harmonically rich sound.

Responsive Gain and Versatile Tone Shaping

With dedicated Volume, Gain, and Tone controls, the Greedtone Classic provides straightforward access to a broad range of drive sounds. Lower gain settings offer touch-sensitive overdrive with excellent note definition, while increasing the gain produces substantial distortion without sacrificing articulation. The Tone control allows players to shape the frequency response, from smooth, rounded warmth to brighter, more cutting sounds. Generous output volume also makes the Classic effective for pushing an amplifier into additional saturation.

Handwired Construction and Premium Components

Built in Seattle, Washington, the Greedtone Classic reflects Williamson's emphasis on component quality and dependable construction. Its handwired circuitry incorporates silver wire with Teflon insulation, lead-free silver solder, and silver mica capacitors. Built-in noise reduction circuitry helps minimize unwanted hiss, while true bypass switching preserves the unaffected signal when the pedal is disengaged. A rugged die-cast aluminum enclosure and solid chromed brass knobs complete the design.

Greedtone's Connection to Pearl Jam

Greedtone has an interesting place in the history of Seattle guitar tone. Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has been documented using a Greedtone distortion pedal during the band's Riot Act era. While that association is with Greedtone's earlier overdrive and distortion designs rather than a specifically documented Classic model, it highlights the builder's connection to the Seattle music scene. The Classic carries forward Greedtone's approach to dynamic, amplifier-like overdrive in a compact pedal format.

Pre-Owned Condition and Included Accessories

This Pre-Owned Greedtone Classic shows light cosmetic wear on the top and sides, with Velcro attached to the back. The pedal remains in its original configuration with no modifications. The original box and power supply are included. A distinctive boutique overdrive for players who appreciate responsive gain, thoughtful construction, and the character of independent American pedal builders.

Specifications

Brand: Greedtone

Model: Classic

Effect Type: Overdrive and Distortion

Country of Manufacture: USA

Construction: Handwired

Controls: Volume, Gain, Tone

Bypass: True Bypass

Noise Reduction: Built-in circuitry

Wiring: Silver wire with Teflon insulation

Solder: Lead-free silver solder

Capacitors: Silver mica

Enclosure: Die-cast aluminum

Knobs: Chromed brass

Power: 9V DC with locking power connection

Manufacturing Year: Unknown

Condition: Pre-Owned

Cosmetic Wear: Light wear on top and sides, Velcro on back

Modifications: None

Included Accessories: Box and power supply

This item is at Five Star Guitars on consignment.
